Court Rates

Adults

Adult singles: $28/hour per person
Adult doubles: $14/hour per person
Ball machine: $50/hour including court time

Juniors

Junior singles: $25/hour per person
Junior doubles: $12.50/hour per person
Ball machine: $50/hour including court time

Work one-on-one or in a small group with one of our instructors. Contact the instructor directly using the information in the profiles below to discuss availability, lesson format, and pricing. $80 Adult Private Lesson (1 Hour). $60 Junior Private Lesson (1 Hour).

Dean Armstrong

Dean Armstrong

OWNER • TENNIS PROFESSIONAL

Dean Armstrong is the owner of Armstrong Tennis Center and has been involved in tennis for more than 40 years. He is a certified PTR instructor and spent 14 years coaching high school tennis. Dean works with players of different ages and ability levels, helping them build sound fundamentals and confidence on the court.

Jeff Courtney

Jeff Courtney

TENNIS PROFESSIONAL • COACH

Jeff brings more than 40 years of experience as a competitive player, coach, and teaching professional to the Armstrong Tennis Center.

A Bangor High School All-American and University of Maine standout, Jeff was a two-time All-New England selection and team captain, playing No. 1 singles and doubles throughout his collegiate career. He competed in three USTA National Championships and was consistently ranked among New England’s top open players.

As a coach, Jeff has helped develop six Maine High School state singles champions and served on Bangor High School’s 2002 Class A Boys State Championship coaching staff. He also founded Bangor Parks & Recreation’s “Tennis in the Park” program and, in 2026, was named Husson University’s Women’s Head Tennis Coach.

Jeff was named the USPTA/RSPA Maine Tennis Professional of the Year in 2018 and received a National Ambassador award in 2026 for his contributions to growing tennis in the United States.

Jerry Mick

Jerry Mick

TENNIS PROFESSIONAL • COACH

Jerry began his athletic career concentrating primarily on baseball even though he played other sports including tennis.  Jerry played four years of college baseball while attending Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO, gaining first team All-Conference honors all four years. He is the only athlete in the history of Lincoln University to be named first team All-Conference in the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association for four consecutive years in a sport.

He is an avid tennis player and enjoys playing four to five times per week. He is a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified professional tennis instructor and gives private lessons and conducts clinics at Armstrong Tennis Center in Bangor, Maine. He works with beginners to help them learn the basics and fall in love with tennis. He oversees the early bird league at the club three mornings per week from 6-8am for those players who like to rise and shine.

USTA League Tennis at ATC

Armstrong Tennis Center supports USTA League play and welcomes teams that use ATC as their home facility. New and returning captains can use the resources below to organize and register their team.

New Team Captains

The Maine Tennis Association recommends three basic steps: create a USTA account, complete the Maine Team Commitment Form, and recruit the players needed for your team. The Maine USTA League Coordinator then provides additional registration instructions.
